mattb93 has been up and running since Saturday, December 27, 2008. It has been through so many layouts, that I don’t even know how many.
Before mattb93 was created there was mattbdyl.com and dirtytricks.ca. My intentions for those 2 past sites were to show off my magic tricks and performances to the world. Mattbdyl.com was a complete failure. I had an unfinished template and not really any content all. I decided that I would take on a different name and new template with content this time. That’s when dirtytricks.ca was created. This website was not so much of a failure. I had a fully finished site with content on it except for my actual videos. That’s when I started to edit my magic performances. When I first began editing I started to think that I wanted the videos to look professional.
That’s when I started getting into Video Special Effects. The first program that I ever used to create a videos Windows Movie Maker. I found this program really easy to use and was making videos with no problem. I decided to move up to the next level in Video Editing and move on over to Sony Vegas 8. This program was designed for film makers to add special effect to anything they to, and also to easily edit video clips. I eventually became so amazing with Sony Vegas that I wanted to move on again. This is when I discovered Video Copilot. This website was in my mind that ultimate site. This site has Products, Tutorials, Amazing Support and the best thing….. A Forum. When I first started watching the tutorials from Video Copilot I realized that Andrew Kramer (creator of VC), was using a program called After Effects.
After researching about this program and finding out what you can do, I downloaded it. When I first started off with After Effects I didn’t really have any idea what I was doing. This is when I found out about the Basic Training Series on Video Copilot. This helped me out so much. After watching all of the tutorials from there, I then knew all of the basics. Now it was time to start getting more advanced.
Today I feel that I have enough knowledge and talent in After Effects that I can show it off. That’s why I have created mattb93.com
Nowadays when you search for Video Special Effects or let’s say After Effects, you will most likely be shown a bunch of tutorial websites that teach you a lot of stuff. I am not saying that that is bad, but mattb93 is created with Video Special Effects (VSE) ONLY. The only time I would ever create a tutorial for mattb93, would be if I get a large amount of requests for something specific.
